hes a bit nervous of me doing it a monthly, as when i tried it on a weekday it didnt really go over too well

but ive told him i think it would do a lot better on a friday or sat night, opposed to a wednesday....so now i just need to show him

Hey I'm from Tx and am going to be in Rochester for a few weeks on a business trip.  Anyone making the drive for this that could hook it up with a ride?

Scorpio Rising, what city are those events (bel cibo?) in?

Anything else interesting I should check out while I'm there?  I think I'll be there from the 11th to the 20th.

What type of music do you like? Might be able to give you some specific club/bar recomemndations.

Diablo is in downtown Buffalo, Bel Cibo is just north of downtown in the city, maybe 10 minutes apart from each other by car. Buffalo's a little over an hour west from Rochester.

Some recommendations:
1) If you're around until May 9th, the Lillac festival in Rochester starts, and it has tons of music over many days.
http://www.lilacfestival.com/2008%20Lilac%20Website/Festival%20Schedule.html

2) Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo: world reknowned for contemporary art. They have free friday nights with various events call Gusto @ the Gallery.
http://www.albrightknox.org/

3) Niagara Falls - visit the Canadian side, it's much better. Lots of tourist cheese stuff in Niagara Falls if you want to check it out.

4) Letchworth State Park: south of Rochester. Park you car, and take one of several gorge trails. None are really difficult, just a matter of how far you want to follow the trail. Info at this site, as well as other area hikes
http://www.wnyhikes.com/letchworth/letchworth-state-park.php

If you are willing to drive further, Toronto Canada is a less than 2 hours north of Buffalo, & has a ton of stuff. It's a memdium sized, very diverse city which many folks on this board visit frequently. If none of these tickle your fancy, PM me, and I can make more suggestions.

If you come out to any of the shows, make sure you look for bald headed guys, that will be Sscorpio Rising or myself...

^^^ Great recommendations!

When you find yourself in town, please do drop in.  It's always great to have new friends around to share the adventure with.  Drop any of us a private message and I'm sure we can exchange numbers to help you out.

Cheers,
Bill

I'm pretty in to psy, and a little sad to be missing the first outdoor of the year back in Tx, but this event in buffalo sounds fun, and I'd like to hear some local artists.  I'm also like dubstep and dnb, so if any of that is going on in rochester next week it would be cool.  I'll probably be stuck in Rochester most of the time, but making it to buffalo one night shouldn't be hard.  Thanks for the help everyone!

Check out http://www.rocinscene.org/ for some Rochester stuff, there are a few DnB DJ's in Rochester. Also be posted on http://www.buffalobassline.com

And FYI, last call at bars in Rochester is 2 AM, but 4 AM in Buffalo.... :drinker:

This one will be a shiteload of psy-trance, electro and some dirty, grimy, mostly tasteless noise from those Digital Geist fellas.

All in all, it'll be a good time!
