I'm turning 30 and I want the dirtiest, funkiest, most bad-ass birthday party ever! Of course, I need all my friends to help in order to pull this off.

Mark the dates and plan to camp out. Same location as last year and the same invitation rules apply - if you don't know me, don't come to my birthday party. If you do know me, and love me, and adore me, and think I'm awesome - well, you'd better be there!

I need help with sound and gear and music-related stuff. I'm hoping my Dharma boys, Steve, and Dr Joe can help me with that. Pleeease?

I also need DJs, poi-spinners, artists, chefs, and other assorted fascinating people to join the fun... Now where would I find people like that? Hmmm... (Note: I have enough DJs! TessFest is booked solid!)

I would like to add that we will also be celebrating the birthdays of Nicci B (8/25) and Chris (8/22), whose birthdays happen to fall at the same time as TessFest. So be prepared for lots of spankings... 3 birthdays in one weekend and I know we have all been very naughty.

Let me know if you're coming, if you can help out with tech stuff or other stuff, and so on and whatnot.

Mwah!!

P.S. My actual birthday falls on July 27th, and I'm sure I'll be up to something on 7/25 or 7/26 although I have no concrete plans at this time.

I have to do international student orientation that week, so this will be a nice reprieve :)

do you think that when the guy came up with the idea to invent a bong, a blacklight popped up over his head?

Wow... Chris will be busy.  Playing solo as Puppetmaster, taggin up for Dharma Lab, Dharma Lab with Soma, Dharma Lab with Crouching Tiger... the possibilities are endless.

Is this going to be another sixteen hour marathon Chris? I wasn't around for the last time.

The lineup is already getting full and I'm running out of hours of darkness to schedule time slots. As long as nobody has a problem with playing during the daylight hours I have no problem keeping the sound going.

I'll provide the moment in the sun to whoever wants to shine.

I'm breaking things down into 90-minute sets running from 7:30pm to 7:30am. Those time slots will be assigned. Unfortunately, due to my parents request (out of consideration for the neighbors), I've been asked to turn the volume down somewhat around 4:30am - BUT NOT OFF. This is not heartbreaking since even with the volume lowered we will still be allowed some very decent THUMP.

While the sets running from 7:30pm to 7:30am will be assigned, I encourage people to play during the day as well - so go solo, tag, collaborate, and goof around if you choose! I will make every attempt to satisfy my beloved musicians' requests to play on certain days or times, but that's not going to be possible 100% of the time and so I do appreciate everyone's understanding.

There will potentially be NO QUIET TIME at TessFest. For those people camping out - everyone I hope - I suggest camping deep into the field if you want any chance of sleep. (Or, as I did last year, just drink until you pass out and the sound levels won't make a lick of difference.)

Soma, I'm very pleased to add you to the lineup! Do you plan to play solo as well as collaborate with Dharma Lab? If you want to play solo I need to know so I can assign you a time slut and those are filling up FAST so let me know as soon as possible. (Also state what genre you plan on playing and any day or time preferences you may have.) As far as your collaboration with DL, please understand that this will have to be done during the day.

Dr Joe may or may not be able to make TessFest. For this reason I will not be officially adding him to the lineup until I have confirmation that he can make it. Given the rate that everything is filling up, he may not get a time slot assigned to him - but I feel certain that if he wants to play he will have ample opportunity, either by sharing a set with another musician or by rocking out during the day when the decks are free.

I'm so excited about TessFest you all have no idea. This is gonna be the best 30th birthday party I could ever hope for.

Harder.

He was probably just at the wrong doorstep (i.e. when he passed out next door to the Elmwood Lounge, hehe)

Hey Stikka! When you say drive with someone from Toronto, do you mean catch a ride with someone already driving, or are you going to drive yourself?

In other words, I need a ride  :D

As is the case for me, repeatedly... I've been fucked over cosmically, in the temporal sense.

As you all recall, Om was one large clusterfuck for me, where i basically was only able to do it, because the week prior, i was able to switch my on-call.

Well, that situation has come my way again.  My next On-call is, yep... you guessed it.  the same weekend as TessFest.  This means, i have to find some way to get out of it, and it may actually cost me.  While i don't mind taking on-call shifts, I certainly don't like having them fall on weekends where I have something planned, or when something is to be planned.

Further to that, because my on-call is that weekend, i can't book the friday off.  I can't call in sick, because I have 2 sick days left. and i plan to have those for the winter, when i may (or may not) get sick.

I will keep you all posted.

Too bad Jos. I hope things work out. If you can come Saturday and not Friday that's ok, there will still be plenty of party left, but I'll be pulling for you to be able to make it the whole weekend.

Dr Joe, glad your schedule is working out. Will be happy to include you in the lineup!

It's getting closer and closer...

:yeah:

I'm going to get them to work out... one way or another.
I'm awaiting approval for the on-call thing. After i get that, i'm putting in a request for that friday off, which means that I'll be Buffalo bound Thursday night if i can swing that.
