**update-- come as early as Thursday night if you'd like --**

For those who are not attending Moondance,  I have planned a celebration for my birthday (over a month late :-p) at my house in Monticello.

I'm recruiting anyone on this forum and elsewhere who has any interest in coming to help me plan, and hopefully come :-p. I'd love to have any performers (if possible) so we have some fresh, live, music (I'll pay you ;-) ).

The property is 16 acres. To the left (the end of the road is the entrance) is a summer camp which will no longer be in session. There are no houses across the street. To the back is a hunting club which will also not be in session, and our neighbor to the right has his balls gripped by my dad's icy hand (he built on our side of the property line) -- so he won't be a problem with some advanced notice.

The property comes equipped with much forestation, a river with a beach and fire pit (on the beach!), my house with a shower and comfortable sleeping, an ATV, and possibly a horse by then as well.

It is in Monticello, NY -- approximately 1-1.5 hours southeast of Binghamton.

Any takers?

do you think that when the guy came up with the idea to invent a bong, a blacklight popped up over his head?

That's the weekend after Blind Baby's Holiday. I may have to work that Saturday until noon but after that I can probably swing Sunday off & put off work until 4pm-ish Monday. At least, that's if I can't manage to not work at all Saturday-Monday... which may be possible.

So... in other words, I can go if I can get an appropriate ride.

And I think renting a van is a great idea. Just need to figure out how many people and how much money. It's a great way to stick together, not use as much gas, and wow! Wouldn't it be fun?

OK -- updates to the house:

We have a real beach -- dad brought in a ton of sand and made it all nice.
Next to the beach is a fire pit with a swing seat and a wooden couch thing.
We have trap shooting for anyone possibly interested in such.
ATV.
Possibly 2 horses by then.
There's otters, woodchucks, deer, etc.
VERY SMALL BUG POPULATION! (I've seen 2 mosquitoes -- no ticks yet, nothing too creepy crawly)
Plenty of mowed, cleared land.
The summer camp ends on August 17th - so noone will be on that side.
The back porch overlooks the river/beach/etc. -- so music can be set up there.

Directions there are painfully simple.

Because of work, I can't make it. I'm so, so sorry. It's just that between all the vacation I'm already taking that month, and the mandatory weekends & late nights, there's no way I can go.

I'm sad. And I'm sorry.  :(

I'd have to decline on this too.  I don't think i'd survive 12hours of driving.

The trip one-way is 6hours.

So, it'd be 12 in total.

This is still happening. Christian is working on getting more people to play - I'm figuring out the final headcount. (Blanket doesn't have the interweb so it is hard for her to get on here often)

So far we have (along with our jobs):

Yes I'm awesome and will be there
Blanket (FIRE)
Ross Deco
Hilary Spiritual Guidence
Nicole (FIRE)
Bouncy Bill Gate Security
Scott  a leg to pee on
Fran crotch cleaner

and featuring:
Da PuppetMasta
The Oracle
:rave:

Maybe - If I'm cool enough
Toronto Cherish
Toronto Brandon (who will spin if he comes)
Joe Rocker (we'll know tomorrow)
Nicole B (we'll know tomorrow)
Jen
Twist (will spin if he comes - he's looking to carpool)
:puzzled:

No I can't handle the amount of fun to be had at this party
Tess
crystal
Jos
Kelly
Daha
:no no:

I'm still trying to get word from others... but let there be no mistake, we're having an intimate gathering in the stix to celebrate with Blanket with friends drama free & full of fun... although we should keep Chris away from the ATV.

Any luck with crazy you two?

YES! It's still on! Dad's extremely excited that people are coming down. You guys can bring anyone you want (this goes for ANYONE coming), regardless of if I know them or not. It's a freeforall -- all my dad asks for is respect and leave no trace, which I know is not a problem with this group :). He's been made aware that my younger sister shouldn't be there due to the potential adult nature of the party :fucked up:  :fucked up: . He's prepared for harder, he IS harder!

Some of the camp counselors from the camp next door will be swinging by, along with some of my friends from home. I gave away all 20ish DL business cards I had since I've been home. They've been blowing everyone away! Many of the counselors are european, and just go bonkers whenever I have you boys on ;). My brother starts melting into the music whenever the stupid's going around and repeats "this shit is swirling my brains!!! turn it up!"

We have a horse on the property now. His name is Chief. He's a total sweetie, and gives no problems to anyone. *pokes Jen*

I'm looking into getting a keg, or half keg so there isn't alot of bottle/can debris. We don't have a garbage man or recycling program, so we have to burn all our garbage in the fire pit -- and having lots of bottles/cans around results in more bugs hanging out on the porch. Input on this idea please?

Dad will have the grill going full steam ahead for all our eating needs. Food donations are always appreciated ;).

When you arrive, you can drive to the end of the driveway (it circles around at the end) to drop off your stuff, then park in the FRONT lawn (it's a good 2 acres and it's mowed for parking). There isn't much room near the house to park. It's only a few hundred feet away, so it's not like the re:treat trek :-p.

You guys are welcome to stay as long as you like. I'm thinking of heading up to Buffalo on Monday night or Tuesday morning.

I'll put up pictures of the property as soon as I can. PM me for directions.

Miss you all terribly.

-Blanket

"Bouncy Bill Gate Security"

An eight-year old walks up.

"Are you old enough to be here, little one?" Bill asks.

The little one pops a pill into Bill's palm.

"Why, yes! Yes, you are," Bill says gleefully, moving aside.

I'm soooooooo sad I can't go. I have to work Friday night until 10pm and 8am to 2pm on Saturday. There was no way around it because I had to return to full time. I could handle the fun, but it's the $$+work that's the problem. I can't afford London either. Looks like next weekend it will just be little ole me chilling out at home.

:crying tears:

and the list grows... Hey you guys who are definitely coming from Buffalo... look at the "maybe" list above and see if you can fit any of them into a carpool. I think that might push many of them from maybe to yes!
